Welcome to the Cre8 Conference Conversation

Here we will explore a journey of discovery on how God is leading his people through the global financial storm. This blog is about connecting people and insights in a community of faith and hope. This will come to a focal point at the Cre8 conference.

This blog allows buy-in for both those able to attend and those who would like to be there but can't make it on this occasion. First the conference details are:

Cre8 Kingdom Business Summit

Cre8 Answers the Recession
The brutal facts are in: ‘The economy is in the sharpest slide ever; share prices have halved; company profits to halve and many will go to the wall; 7.5% unemployment predicted; BHP announed a 6000 staff layoff (22 Jan 09); house prices are falling; China and the resources boom are no longer the answer’ (The Age 19 Jan 09).

The Word of God says you need three things to rise above the storm:
1. faith in God (Matt 8:26)
2. wise counsel (Prov 15:22, 16:20, 24:6)
3. foundations built on the rock of Christ (Matt 7:25)

The Cre8 summit is part of God’s provision for times such as these. Cre8 is a unique gathering of leading churches and marketplace leaders working under the Spirit’s grace to equip the body of Christ to rise above the storm.

At the summit you will:
1. grow your faith by connecting with people of faith who understand your issues
2. find wise counsel amongst experienced leaders from church and marketplace
3. set your feet on the rock of Christ so that you can help others put their trust in the Lord.

The church has to be equipped to be the inspiration of the nation in its work and purpose. You need to be at this conference to be part of God’s answer by moving on from fear and despair to a new song of praise to God in your everyday working life:

I waited patiently for the LORD;
he turned to me and heard my cry.
He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the LORD.
(Psalm 40:1-3)

Spiritually this conference is first about wholehearted allegiance to Christ, then about making godly connections, then about skill acquisition. This conference has as its great hope you finding your sonship in your daily occupation, about you walking in your inheritance in the Lord and finding your destiny in the midst of the storm.

This conference is about you taking ownership of the gifts the father has given you and better understanding how to use them for his glory in the future.

What have you already done with the gifts God has given you? How are they to be applied on the road ahead? Where is your faith?

We want you to ask these questions and bring them to reality amongst a community of faith that understands your journey. In this way you will move on with God… from passive agreement with his principles to pro-active alignment with his purposes and thereby make a difference for the gospel in the marketplace where he has sent you.

  1. God's promise

"I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you." Genesis 28:15

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deu 31:6

"The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged." Deu 31:8

"Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Proverb 3:3

"You who have escaped the sword, leave and do not linger! Remember the LORD in a distant land, and think on Jerusalem." Jer 51:50

"I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you" Joh 14:18

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." Joh 14:27

"Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you." Heb 13:5

Dear Brothers and Sisters, keep these verses close to your hearts and remember God loves YOU and He will never forsake you or leave you in the middle of the storm but He will lift you up like Eagles.
